About the Artist

Irene Grasty

Art has always been a passion for me as far back as I can remember. Born near the beautiful mountains of Maggie Valley, North Carolina. I began painting and drawing pictures at the age of nine or ten. I entered a National Art Contest and won a prize.

Growing up in the mountains, my siblings and I spent a lot of time playing and working outside. The beautiful mountains that surrounded us inspired me to try to put what I saw on paper or canvas.

For several years I've have studies different books by artists to learn their techniques, however, the greatest teacher of all is the One who "created" all things for us to enjoy, and that is my "Heavenly Father". I give Him all the glory.

I love trying to teach others what I know, and all mediums are wonderful to work with, but oil and acrylic are my favorites.
